your sub job's level will always be half of your main job's level...
for example..
you have BLM 60 and WHM 60
if you sub WHM to your BLM your stats will show BLM60/WHM30
if you sub BLM to your WHM your stats will show WHM60/BLM30
however, if your sub job's level did not reach to half of the main job's level, then when you sub it, the level will be the same
for example
you have BLM 60 and WHM 25
if you sub WHM to your BLM your stats will show BLM60/WHM25
if you sub BLM to your WHM your stats will show WHM25/BLM12 <---not 13 because when you are 26 then it will jump to 13
